HAKI is committed to protecting the privacy of all users. Data collected through this platform is used solely for the purpose of facilitating legal case management and justice access in Uganda. All personal data is stored securely and is not shared with third parties without consent, except as required by Ugandan law.

Your Rights

Right of Access

You have the right to know what personal data we hold about you. Log in and use “Download My Data” under Settings → Privacy & Data.

Right to Data Deletion (Erasure)

You can request deletion of your account and case data at anytime from Settings → Privacy & Data. We can delete your account information and case narrative (with redaction). We cannot delete evidence or audit logs, which Ugandan law requires us to retain for 7 years. If your case is still active, data is retained until case closure plus one additional year. Contact privacy@plexaris.com with questions.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to receive your data in a portable format. Use “Download My Data” in Settings → Privacy & Data to export a JSON file at any time.

Data Retention

  • Audit logs: 7 years (Uganda legal requirement)
  • Evidence files: 1+ years, indefinite for active appeals
  • Closed cases: 1 year after closure
  • Interview audio: 90 days (transcript retained)
